REVIEW OF MINUTES FROM THE NOVEMBER SCHOOL BOARD MEETING:  A couple small corrections and clarifications were made to the November minutes. A short discussion was held on how to publicize the minutes.

NEW BUSINESS:

• By-Laws…Review, Discussion, etc. and Consultative School Board:  The School Board was handed a copy of the Consultative School Board (CSB) as set forth by the Diocese of Oakland.  The board reviewed and discussed the document.

• GRANTS: Michiele Iorri reported that the school got 2 small grants from the Dominican Sisters. The first one was for $2000 for Conflict Resolution; and the second was for $2000 from the Mother Pia scholarship.

• OLD BUSINESS
• No Bully: According to Linda Parini No Bully has changed the climate of the school making significant changes through out.
• Strategic Plan:  Michiele Iorii reworked the format of strategic plan. She handed out a copy of the revised Strategic Plan to everyone which was briefly discussed.
• WCEA / WASC: The pre-visit of the WASC team will be at OLG on Jan 24. The SB Meeting with the WASC team will be on March 13 at 6pm.
• Catholic Identity Survey – (Parent survey): The School Board was given a copy of the survey for discussion. Linda Parini was pleased with the results.
• Target Card: Bill Wright  gave his findings of using the Target Card as a fundraising opportunity for the school.

• CLOSING PRAYER: Led by Bill. Brian will lead the opening and closing prayer in January.

REVIEW OF 10/4/2011 SB MEETING MINUTES:

The School Board reviewed the minutes of the October 4 school board meetings. The full version of the minutes was accepted by the School Board unanimously.

STRATEGIC PLAN:

The School Board was handed a 24 page Strategic plan formulated by the 2010-2011 School Board. The School Board reviewed the document in detail.  This was done to analyze the progress of the plan and where improvements can be made.

WCEA / WASC:

Linda Parini gave an update on the preparations being made for the WASC visit. Greg Blanco is the Chair of the Visiting Committee. There will be a one day visit by the committee in January. The formal visitation will happen from March 13 to 15. On one of those days, the committee will meet with SB members.

• PRAYER: Mrs. Parini began the meeting with a prayer, “Prayer for Parent.”
• INTRODUCTIONS:  Those in attendance introduced themselves.
• BOARD LEADERSHIP:  The first order of business was to elect the Board Leadership. Robert (Bob) Sylvia was voted unanimously as President. Bill Wright was voted Vice President. Marissa Mendoza was voted Secretary.
• BY-LAWS DISCUSSION:  Mrs. Parini would like to review the Board to discuss the By-Laws during the December 6 meeting.
• STRATEGIC PLAN:  The Strategic plan will be discussed in the November 1st meeting. The goal would be to finalize it.
• WCEA / WASC: Mrs. Parini spoke briefly about the accreditation. The accreditation team will meet with the Board during their visit which happens from March 13 – 15 2012.
• CATHOLIC IDENTITY SURVEY: Bonnie Cantlon who chairs the Catholic Identity component joined the meeting and spoke briefly about it. She then handed out the “Catholic Identity Survey” which she asked each of the board members to complete by Friday, October 7.
• CLOSING PRAYER:  Mrs. Parini led the closing prayer. Meeting was adjourned.
