Welcome to Second Grade!

It is with great excitement that I introduce myself to the parents of the second grade class. My name is Jane Symonds and I am married with two grown children. I live in Fremont, and I am a parishioner of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. I have been employed with the Oakland Diocese for roughly 17 years now. I have taught at Our Lady of Guadalupe School some years ago, St. Felicitas Catholic School, and Holy Spirit Catholic School. I am very happy to be back at OLG where my passion for teaching began.  Aside from having the opportunity to teach at different grade levels and subjects, I have been part of principal leadership teams/vice principal for the past 11 years. I am part of the OLG parish RCIA team and love welcoming new Catholic people into our faith community.

I believe that all children can succeed and I look forward to a productive year. The early years in a child’s education are extremely important. During this time, attitudes about education are developed. Therefore, I feel it is important to provide a learning environment that is positive, friendly, and supportive in which children can do their best.

Blessings,

Mrs. Symonds
