Fourth grade is an exciting year for our students. We have multiple projects, such as our Mission project, that are unique to our grade level. The children also gain in-depth knowledge of California and the Gold Rush period, and gain hands on exploration experience during our Colomo field trip. We will cover sever class novels together in English Language Arts, expand our skills in California Common Core Math and learn more about our exciting world with our in depth NGSS Science program. I encourage you to browse through the fourth grade web pages to learn more about our curriculum, class projects and field trips.
Hello! Im Brittani Gomes, 4th Grade teacher at Our Lady of Guadalupe School in Fremont, CA. This is my third year teaching at OLG and third year teaching 4th Grade. I am thrilled for this opportunity to teach your children and so incredibly blessed that God has brought me back to Fremont for my first year teaching!
I am from Warm Springs in Fremont, born and raised, attended Irvington High School just down the road and completed my AA at Ohlone College before graduating with a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies for Elementary Teaching from National University. I moved from Fremont to Sunnyvale for a few years and moved back in February 2018. It feels good to be home; I missed my daily view of Mission Peak!
Covid limited my summer adventures this year but also opened the door for some new hobbies. I love nothing more than curling up with a good book, trying new recipes Pinterest, taking care of my plants (plant mom here!) and more recently, hiking and exploring the gorgeous state parks in California. Teaching is something I find so much joy in every single day- I live for those “ah-ha!” moments and seeing real life connections being made by my students. I know this year is a bit different than any of us could have ever dreamed, but I look forward to partnering with you as we embark on this wild ride together. Thank you for choosing our school and thank you for you children, they are a blessing to us all!
