Welcome! My name is Danielle Bell, and thank you for visiting this page. This will be my fourth year as the School Counselor at OLG. I am so happy to be here and be a part of such a wonderful school and community! It’s been such an honor to work with so many families, children, staff and be able to work in the classrooms.
Obviously this year is like no other! New world. Altered lifestyles. Dramatic changes in what we choose to do, how we choose to live and, most likely, where we focus our thoughts and concerns. Opportunities. Opportunities. Opportunities. To face abrupt change with optimism even if we cannot see the ultimate outcomes. I’ve been seeing families and children virtually. Providing teletherapy has allowed me to continue to connect during such a critical time. I am aware that online therapy can feel awkward, but it doesn’t have to. To my surprise people have found it easier to be vulnerable and name what they need. And, I continue to develop ways to interact and do play therapy with kids online.
I am Mother of two children, a daughter who is twelve years old and son who is almost 16. When my youngest was born with severe Autism it led me to dive deep into healing and unconditional love. Since then I’ve had many life events that have knocked me into awakening to my life’s purpose and continued self-growth and awareness. I've worked in the Fire Service for almost 20 years and on the side, have worked with children over the last decade. I went back to school to get my Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology and feel passionate about supporting people and reflecting back their true nature.
My work is intuitive, empathic, heart centered, and spiritual, while remaining grounded in the pragmatic reality of living life in the here and now everyday world.
There is nothing I enjoy more than connecting with and helping our children. I would like the students here to think of my office (virtually too) as a warm and friendly place, where they are always welcome. I believe we could all use some support in our day to day lives and it's beautiful that OLG offers counseling services. My intention is to cultivate an environment where each child I see feels heard, seen, and accepted. By having this extra level of care, it supports a space where they can grow and flourish at school and home.
I plan on working with students at the classroom level, small group level, as well as at short and long term individual counseling level. I will also be meeting with parents and collaborating with teachers and staff.
Any student can request to meet with me, or they can be referred by a teacher, administrator, or parent. I encourage you to reach out if you have concerns regarding your child. If you would like me to meet with your child, please do not hesitate to contact me. I also love working with families and parents as this expedites everyone’s healing and connection within the family system. My greatest joy is supporting emotional healing and loving connections - with self, partners, family, and with friends.
Please feel free to contact me at [email protected], if you have any questions or would just like to connect.
Sincerely,
Danielle Bell
